In February 2011 I joined the brand new Queen Elizabeth for the Sydney / Melbourne / Fremantle leg of her maiden world cruise. I found the layout of the ship to be very spacious and comfortable with beautiful decor. Of course, I would have liked to stay aboard longer.
Sydney - February 21 - 23
I flew up to Sydney on the day before QE's arrival in order to see her and QM2 enter Sydney harbour early the next morning.
When I arrived in my hotel room on the 21st. Feb I was treated to the sight of another of my favourite ships, ms Amsterdam, sailing from Circular Quay.
Early on the 22nd Feb Queen Mary 2 entered Sydney harbour, followed by Queen Elizabeth.
After doing a circuit of Sydney Harbour QM2 heads for her berth at Garden Island while QE heads for Circular Quay.
QE all fast at Circular Quay Overseas Passenger Terminal.
