For a feature length directorial debut, this sure is a good film. It has a lot of good parts. Specifically the acting. Every one here is fine, but of course, the person that has been getting the rave reviews here is the star, Elizabeth Olsen, and she deserves it. You can tell she is a fine actress and should have a great career ahead of here. Her skill is better than most woman with doubler her age. She plays the psychologically unstable refugee from a cult perfectly. The film carries an uneasy feel through out and explodes a the right times for the most intense moments. It is filmed with a unique use of blur in a lot of the shots. Also the camera placement and movement is near perfect here. All in all, a fine time spent.
The Verdict - An impressive film directorial debut. - ***1/2
