The Newroom (Sundays at 10 pm ET on HBO)

So I was talking to a friend of mine about the pilot and he told me he thought the show was overly done?  I was like do you mean the office scene between Mac and Will?  I agree it was really long and cheesy - I could have done without it.  So tonight I thought I would check out what other reviewers said.  And the reviews aren't good.  Writers are not giving Aaron Sorkin any credit and some not so nice things.  First of all I LOVED The West Wing and I was a huge fan of Sports Night (not happy when they cancelled that show) but I will be honest I was not a fan of Studio 60 (I liked that cast too).  Second I got a lot of reviewers saying too melodramatic...the actors have long dialogue....it is like these people never watched an episode of Dawson's Creek (trust me there are not enough big words or dialogue in this episode to match those of Dawson's Creek).

Back to The NewsRoom. I like the entire cast.  I liked pretty much every scene (except the office scene with Mac and Will).  I really love Dev Patel!

I hope that the second episode is good because reviewers are not liking the show (I wonder what other fans think).

I do agree with some sentiments though - I totally miss Game of Thrones!
